Safer Schools Program:

The interventions provided from programs, such as the one from Strategic Training, may keep the bully of today from becoming the batterer of tomorrow. (Dr. Tracey Adams)

In addition, the research has shown that bullying can lead to; domestic violence, criminal behavior, drug addiction or early usage, alcohol addiction or early usage, early pregnancy and many other larger social issues that confront us as a country.

l      The National Association of School Psychologists reported that every day more than 160,000 American school children miss school because they fear being bullied.

l      Based on the research it appears that early intervention is imperative to disrupting the link between the aggressive behaviors of young adolescents and their subsequent involvement in partner violence.

l      Staff behavior is the key element in effective behavior interventions.

l      Consistent staff response to aggression tells young people which behaviors are unacceptable.

l      Consistent staff reporting is necessary to make discipline effective.

l      Staff school wide should encourage students to report aggression rather than focusing on reducing ‘tattling’.

l      When staff avoids blaming the targets of bullying they send a clear message to bullies that they are fully responsible for their own actions.

l      60% of boys who were bullies in middle school had at least one conviction by age 24.

l      Implementation of the program meets IDP and PDP needs. Provides Professional Development and can provide C.E.U. credit.

(The U.S. Secret Service Report) - School killings were rarely sudden, impulsive acts. Most were planned.

Before most incidents, other people knew the student was considering a violent attack at the school.

No consistent profile of potential attackers could be developed.

Most attackers felt bullied or persecuted and had engaged in behavior that worried others before the attack.

(Goal of the Safer Schools Program) - When we implement our program:

We hope to stop the kids from violence.

Provide interventions to prevent those in danger from getting arrested.

Provide early intervention for potential domestic violence abusers.
